Hammersmith summer market returns with music, street food and Pride events on King Street

Hammersmith will see King Street and Lyric Square transform into a day-long summer market on Saturday 20th June, with more than 100 stalls set up across the town centre from 10am to 6pm.

The event brings together local businesses and independent traders, with organisers encouraging residents to explore small brands they would not normally find on the high street. Monti & Mel Pet Boutique, candle maker Silently Healing and jewellery designer Yiola Georgiou are among those taking part.

Food will be served throughout the day, from pasta dishes at Crazy For Pasta to drinks at HumaniTea and a selection of items from Hayber Restaurant.

Music will run across three stages, with live performances spanning punk, soul, jazz, blues and swing. The Whops Band, Kaiya Maxfield, Bunny Nightingale and Chris Harvey are all scheduled to perform, while Unity Square on King Street will host a four-hour set of jazz and blues.

The day also coincides with Pride Month celebrations in Hammersmith. Drag performer Kardeizure will appear on stage, alongside a silent disco walking tour hosted in drag. The walk begins at Bradmore Square, behind Hammersmith Broadway Shopping Centre, and will include music, comedy and dance-led moments for participants.

Families will find street performers moving through the crowds, including stilt-walking butterflies, Bridie the extra tall tea lady and two dancing grannies on shopping trolleys. Free children’s activities will also run throughout the day.

The event is sponsored by Hammersmith Broadway Shopping Centre and Hammersmith BID, with 50 free tickets made available to H&F residents via Eventbrite.

A further summer market is planned for North End Road in Fulham in July.
