Adult Learning Service earns third consecutive ‘Good’ Ofsted rating
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s Adult Learning Service has once again been recognised for its excellence, securing a third consecutive ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted. This achievement underscores the service’s commitment to providing high-quality education and robust career support to adult learners in the community.
Ofsted inspectors highlighted the service’s responsive curriculum, tailored to meet the specific needs of the community, particularly in areas affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. By collaborating with local organisations, the service ensures that training opportunities are both relevant and accessible, fostering an environment where learners can build confidence, resilience, and enhance their employment prospects.
A notable aspect of the Adult Learning Service is its safe, positive, and purposeful learning environment. Learners not only enjoy their studies but also form meaningful friendships, contributing to a supportive community atmosphere. The high-quality teaching enables participants to quickly gain confidence and acquire new knowledge, paving the way for personal and professional growth.
Councillor Kim Taylor-Smith, Deputy Leader of Kensington and Chelsea Council and Lead Member for Employment, Culture and Economy, expressed pride in the team’s efforts, especially in supporting the community post-Grenfell. He emphasised the development of accessible training and accredited courses that address both local and national skills shortages, particularly in the care and early years sectors.
Since the previous Ofsted inspection in 2018, the Council has proactively addressed areas for improvement, leading to better attendance rates and overall enhanced service delivery.
