Arts Everywhere Fund grants 130 organisations £130 million
130 organisations are set to receive funding from the government’s £130 million Arts Everywhere Fund to increase accessibility to arts and culture. These include Hammersmith’s Lyric theatre which will be given £534,227.
Organisations set to receive a share of the Arts Everywhere Fund are selected by Department for Culture, Media and Sport if it thinks they provide affordable as well as welcoming spaces to enjoy the arts, according to The Chiswick Calendar. The Lyric has been chosen thanks to its popular youth theatre and work with local schools.
Among the other organisations include museums, libraries, galleries, grassroots musical venues, and performing arts spaces.
Libraries from the London Borough of Ealing expect to be given £50,000 from the Arts Everywhere Fund, set to be distributed by the Libraries Improvement Fund. It will be shared among the 28 libraries and focus on improving facilities and technology to increase footfall among families and children.
The London Transport Museum, the Southbank Centre, and the Royal Opera House will be given £999,999, £10 million, and £5 million respectively. The Harrow Arts Centre will be given £630,014, the Theatre Royal Stratford East will be given £1,750,000, London Contemporary Dance (The Place) Limited will receive £660,000, and Shoreditch Town Hall will be granted £899,847. Create London’s The White House in Dagenham will be granted £500,000.
Venues outside of London will also receive a share of the Arts Everywhere Fund including The Rydale Folk Museum, Nottingham Playhouse, and Brighton Dome & Festival Limited.
