Westminster residents invited to apply for Jet2’s free commercial flight training scheme
If you live in Westminster and have ever dreamed of becoming a pilot, Jet2.com is offering a rare opportunity to make that ambition a reality – without the financial barrier. The airline has launched a new commercial pilot scheme, Jet2FlightPath, a fully sponsored training programme offering 60 places to successful candidates who want to become commercial pilots.
Unlike most aviation career pathways, which typically require trainees to self-fund upwards of £100,000 in fees, this scheme is completely funded by the airline. That means local residents with the right entry qualifications, five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including maths and a science, can now enter the aviation profession without the usual financial hurdles.
The Jet2FlightPath programme includes an intensive 18-month training course, delivered by one of three selected partner academies based in the UK, Spain or the United States. Graduates will then move straight into advanced aircraft training before being offered a position flying for Jet2.com.
The scheme is open to applicants from all walks of life and is designed to support both diversity and inclusion across the aviation sector. It’s ideal for anyone in Westminster considering a future in flight, whether you’re leaving school, switching careers, or simply determined to pursue a long-held dream.
The airline, which currently operates a fleet of over 100 aircraft and flies to leisure destinations across Europe and beyond, says the new programme will become an annual fixture, helping more people access meaningful careers in aviation.
Jet2 also says commercial pilot scheme trainees won’t just spend time in the air, they’ll gain hands-on experience across its ground operations, working with cabin crew and airport staff to better understand the wider workings of the business.
Applications are open now, and those interested are encouraged to act quickly. To find out more and apply, visit the Jet2FlightPath application page.
