London Transport Museum saw record visitors in 2025
The London Transport Museum in Covent Garden saw a record 449,599 visitors in 2025, its highest annual total since it opened in 1980, and a 6% increase on 2024. The “surge” in visitors comes after it launched its refreshed brand identity, as well as the opening of two new exhibitions on the capital’s transport heritage. It also points to an “increased focus on groups and travel trade engagement, and the introduction of Friday afternoon musical performances by up-and-coming classical and jazz musicians” as being the reasons.
The Hidden London guided tours at the London Transport Museum saw a record 48,640 ticketholders in 2025, the highest ever since launching a decade previously. For the first time last year, the tours also opened to young visitors aged between 10 and 16. Guests were treated to “exclusive guided access” to closed off-off areas on the Tube network, including disused stations, hidden filming locations, secret wartime shelters, and closed platforms.
The launch of a new brand identity for the London Transport Museum in July 2024 included a new spectrum ‘Museum’ roundel, reimagining the “iconic” “bullseye” design from 100 years ago. The updated look “celebrates London’s creativity and the city’s rich transport design heritage, from pioneering engineering to world-famous poster art,” the museum said.
Audience-focused publicity campaigns, developed by the Museum’s own Marketing & PR and Design teams, helped to boost visibility and reach new visitors in London and beyond. Visit its website for more information and any for upcoming events.
