Belmond unveils private rail carriage designed by Baz Luhrmann
Belmond has unveiled a new private railway carriage designed by Baz Luhrmann, with services due to begin from London Victoria this summer. The carriage designed by Baz Luhrmann will operate as part of the British Pullman fleet and be available for exclusive hire.
The project marks a collaboration between the film director and his wife and creative partner Catherine Martin. The carriage forms part of Belmond’s luxury rail division, which runs scheduled journeys through southern England.

Configured to host up to 12 guests, the carriage includes a dining space, lounge area and private bar. It will attach to existing Pullman services travelling through Kent, Surrey, Hampshire and Oxfordshire.
Belmond, the international hospitality company that operates the British Pullman service, confirmed that bookings would open ahead of the summer launch. Details of the wider Pullman programme are published by the Belmond British Pullman.
Exclusive hire begins at £15,000, which includes catering, onboard service staff and tailored route planning. A spokesperson for the company said the aim was to create a carriage that combines theatre design with the tradition of British luxury rail travel.
Work on the carriage has been completed in time for its first scheduled journeys later this year.
