Hulk Hogan Funeral Held in Florida as Tributes Pour In

Hulk Hogan, one of wrestling’s most recognisable names, has been laid to rest at a private funeral in Florida, with dozens of close family members and friends gathering to honour his life. The 71-year-old star, who died of a heart attack on 24th July at his home in Clearwater, had been battling leukemia and atrial fibrillation, according to the Pinellas County medical examiner, who confirmed his death was from natural causes.

The service was held at the church where Hogan, born Terry Bollea, was baptised last year. Security was tight, with officers and K-9 units stationed at the site to ensure privacy, while signs marked “Private Event” turned away those outside the invited circle.

Hogan’s death prompted tributes from across the sporting and political worlds. Donald Trump shared an image of himself arm wrestling the wrestling legend, posting: “They are having the ‘Hulkster’s’ funeral today, and I thought everybody would enjoy seeing this picture.” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also declared “Hulk Hogan Day” last Friday, ordering flags at official buildings to be flown at half-mast.

Hogan’s legacy in wrestling is unparalleled. He was the headline attraction for the very first WrestleMania in 1985 and became a defining figure for an entire generation of fans, squaring off against the likes of Andre the Giant, Randy Savage, The Rock, and even WWE co-founder Vince McMahon. His influence stretched far beyond the ring, with appearances in films and television, including the VH1 reality series Hogan Knows Best.

His daughter, Brooke Hogan, reflected on his private side, writing on Instagram: “I am so grateful I knew the real version of him. Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens.”

Hogan’s body will be cremated, but his legacy remains deeply embedded in popular culture. As tributes continue, his passing marks the end of an era in professional wrestling and entertainment.
