Bramley House works nears completion

With triple-glazed windows and a new environmentally friendly roof being installed, the major works at Bramley House in Notting Dale are nearing completion. It will be the first Council-managed home in Kensington & Chelsea to be entirely re-fitted with triple-glazed windows. This will allow the building to retain heat in the winter months while also reducing sound from outside such as road noise.
A new insulated roof has also been installed at Bramley House to help keep heat in during the cold. The top of the roof has had green roof areas installed, with the addition of plants to help reduce the carbon from the air. It also has a brown roof section that will allow local plants and wildlife to thrive, all “topped off” by solar panels to help contribute to the communal electricity charges.
Amber Construction is also renovating the basement to create an all-new community space as part of their commitment to social value. Social value is when the council asks its suppliers as a part of the contract to provide improvements or opportunities for the communities that they are performing work in.
