UK weather warning as 600-mile wall of rain set to hit

UK weather warning forecasts show a 600-mile wall of rain is expected to sweep across almost the entire country from 27th August. All but eight counties are set to see wet and chilly conditions, with the heaviest rainfall predicted in the East Midlands and southern Scotland.

According to WXCharts data, the only areas expected to escape the downpour are Aberdeenshire, Somerset, Middlesex, Kent, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. For the rest of the country, temperatures will fall sharply, with central Scotland likely to dip to around 5C and parts of England expected to hover near 10C. This will be a marked change from the fourth summer heatwave, which has seen temperatures reach 30C in recent days.
