Uber Ski launches

Uber has announced Uber Ski in France, Switzerland, and the US, providing a new way for skiers to transport their equipment up to the slopes. A rollout in Canada is also planned later in the year. The service allows passengers to book a vehicle large enough for four people and their equipment. Rides can be booked up to 90 days in advance under Uber Reserve.

Users will see an Uber Ski tile on the app. After picking a ride, they can choose between UberXL with room for two and their equipment, or UberXXL, with space for four and equipment.

The seasonal offering launched on 13th November just as ski resorts around the planet open their doors for the winter season. The service will continue till the end of March.

Uber is also partnering with Vail resorts to help with the planning process, allowing skiers and riders to buy an Epic Pass or one-day ticket through its app. Full-season Epic Passes allow access to over 90 mountains around the world, and 20% off on-resort dining, retail, lodging, and rentals.

When season passes are taken off sale in December, Uber users will still have the option for an Epic Local Pass, offering 10 days at a select number of resorts for a discounted price, or Epic Day Passes, for one to seven sessions on the mountain.
