During our first session, we focused on a series of basic exercises designed to build strength, muscle, and confidence when working out in the gym.
Now, we all know that shedding those extra pounds is no easy task. Whether you’re a seasoned gym-goer or just starting out, exercise can feel daunting. John began with the fundamentals, starting with getting the nutrition right. Together, we established a calorie deficit, and he shared his knowledge on how much protein, fibre, and fats I should be consuming to support my goals.
But it didn’t stop there. Daily movement plays a huge role in progress, so a target of around 8,000 steps a day was set, and this is not always the easiest task during the winter months. On top of that, two home workouts per week were introduced, with everything organised carefully in an app.
The user experience of the app is relatively positive. It’s simple to use and includes short videos demonstrating each exercise, along with the required number of reps and sets.
John and I trained together once a week for five weeks, with a strong focus on fat loss and muscle building. Five weeks later, the result had me around 10 pounds lighter, more energetic, and building healthier habits again.
John has extensive expertise as a personal trainer. He is encouraging, passionate about fitness, and, most importantly, deeply understanding of his clients’ needs. Training with John transformed the way I think about nutrition and exercise, teaching me to truly celebrate the small daily wins.
