Remembrance Sunday Weather: Dry in London as Rain Edges in from the West
The Remembrance Sunday weather forecast suggests that London and much of eastern Britain will enjoy a dry and bright morning before rain edges in from the west later in the day.
This weekend will feel cooler than the unusually mild spell seen midweek, when temperatures reached up to 17°C in parts of southern England, well above average for early November.

While it will not turn particularly cold, the shift in air mass and the return of brisk winds will make it feel noticeably fresher. Conditions will depend greatly on location: coastal areas and higher ground will feel cooler than more sheltered parts of the capital.
Rain pushing in from the Atlantic
The UK’s weather pattern this week has been shaped by a series of Atlantic low-pressure systems, bringing spells of heavy rain across western Britain. Another low is forecast to approach from the north Atlantic on Saturday night, sending weather fronts across Ireland and towards western parts of the UK by Sunday morning.
Forecast models suggest that the main rain band will reach Northern Ireland early on Sunday, while eastern England, including central London, should remain fine and dry for morning services, with bright skies and light winds.
Further west, the southerly winds are expected to freshen, particularly around the Irish Sea, making it more difficult to hold flags and banners during parades.
“It’s typical of November for conditions to vary sharply between east and west,” a Met Office forecaster said. “London and the southeast look dry and mild through the morning, while Wales and parts of southwest England could see rain moving in around midday.”
Regional outlook
By 11am, the focal point of remembrance services, dry and bright conditions are expected across London, Manchester, and Edinburgh, with temperatures around 12–13°C. York should also stay dry, though clouds will begin to thicken.
Further west, rain may begin to reach Anglesey, Gwynedd, and parts of southwest England by late morning, according to the UKV model. These areas are also likely to experience gustier winds.
Temperatures across the UK will range from 11°C to 14°C, feeling cooler where rain or wind sets in.
