Pathway Bond to support young people in H&F

Schools and Hammersmith & Fulham Council will work together for the new Pathway Bond, to connect pupils with businesses. This helps secondary schoolers towards the “hottest careers in the borough’s thriving and innovative business community.”

Through its new H&F Pathway Bond, the council is connecting schools with businesses to create “opportunities and clear pathways” for young people in the borough towards careers in science, technology, engineering, maths, medicine, and media (STEM³).

Students are being offered access to work experience, mentoring, apprenticeships, and placements, with almost 100 businesses, including start-ups and “globally recognised companies.”

“The world is changing faster than ever before,” Cllr Cowan said. “And we want our young people to go forth and shape it. We’re not asking them to figure out their future alone – we’re actively working to create it with them. We want to empower all our amazing young people, whatever their background, with the skills to gain careers in the industries of the future. Not because of who is in their family network, but because they live in Hammersmith & Fulham.”

The school visit series launched at Fulham Cross Girls’ School on Tuesday 20 January. It will continue across schools borough-wide over the coming weeks.
