Deliveroo disguise shooting: girl, 8, and father shot as gunman targeted family in Ladbroke Grove
An eight-year-old girl and her father were wounded in a Deliveroo disguise shooting that prosecutors say formed part of a series of targeted attacks across London. Jurors at the Old Bailey heard the attacker fired eleven rounds into a family car on Southern Row, Ladbroke Grove, hitting the child twice and her 34-year-old father five times.
Prosecutors said the Deliveroo disguise shooting was carried out with care and planning. The assailant is alleged to have travelled by hire car, changed into a delivery outfit with a box, then used an e-bike to reach his targets. The court was told that a pistol later linked to the third incident was recovered outside the defendant’s home.
Earlier incidents were outlined to the jury. A man was shot in the thigh in Notting Hill in October. Days later, shots were fired at an address in north London associated with the father who was later attacked in Ladbroke Grove.
Addressing jurors, the prosecution said the family had “nowhere to escape” once the gunman opened fire at close range. In body-worn video played to the court from the first incident, a victim initially described a “kangaroo” bag before correcting it to a delivery rider’s pack.
Investigators tracked journeys using CCTV, traffic cameras and phone data, the court heard. An e-bike and delivery clothing were later recovered from a flat in north Kensington.
The defendant denies attempted murder and related firearms offences. The trial continues.
