Christmas gifts competition launched by TfL

To mark the end of its 25th anniversary year, TfL is launching a Christmas gifts competition, offering customers a chance to win a range of festive prizes to explore the capital this winter. Boat and bus tours, ice skating, and theatre trips are among the prizes to be won.

To have a chance of winning, visit the website or send a postal entry to TfL Press Office, Transport for London, 11th Floor, Palestra, 197 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NJ by midnight on Sunday 7th December and explain what you love about London’s festive period and which gift you would like to win. Winners will be selected at random.

Among the “fantastic range” of Christmas gifts up for grabs are tickets for English National Ballet’s production of Nutcracker at London Coliseum, a guided Snow Globe climb at the O2, an afternoon tea sightseeing bus tour, boat trips, tickets to a range of “unmissable” plays and comedy shows, a champagne experience on the IFS Cloud Cable Car, and many more.

A number of free festive events are happening across London this winter, including a festive treasure hunt on the DLR between 15th December and 2nd January. The treasure hunt begins at Tower Gateway, with participants looking for clues at nine stations on the line. Customers are also encouraged to download the Actionbound App and help Doris and Dave bring a festive spirit to the Docklands, with prizes available for participants.

Free festive carols will be at Canary Wharf station on the DLR platforms every afternoon between 8th and 12th December, with local school children filling the station with Christmas cheer.

And look out for eight different specially wrapped trains, buses, and other transport services which have been revamped to celebrate TfL’s 25th birthday. Each transport wrap, TfL says, celebrates different customer improvements since 2000, including extending the Northern line, introducing Oyster cards and contactless payments, low-emission buses, and Night Tube.
