Public Safety

A 42-year-old man from east London was arrested on suspicion of kidnap the following day. He has been bailed while enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Grant Stevens said officers want to speak to anyone who was in the area, or who has dash-cam or phone footage that might help.
“We are keen to establish the circumstances and to identify the young woman involved,” he said.

The scene sits at the junction with Lighterman’s Road, a busy stretch for late-night traffic and delivery vehicles. Officers have reviewed initial CCTV and are speaking to local businesses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting the time and location, or to provide details anonymously via Crimestoppers, or call 0800 555 111. For formal updates and contact routes, see the police appeal page.
