Cadent Gas works to cause disruption around White City

“Urgent” Cadent Gas works will cause delays around White City and Wood Lane for the next 10 weeks. The works begin on Monday 13 October at the Junction of Wood Lane, Scrubs Lane, and North Pole Road.

Traffic, buses, and pedestrians are all likely to be “significantly” affected by the works, with temporary traffic lights and bus diversions put in place throughout, as well as lane closures planned for the later stages.

Cadent Gas has informed Hammersmith & Fulham Council that it must urgently upgrade its gas pipes in the area. To help minimise disruption, the council says it is “insisting the gas company complete the work as quickly as possible.”

“We will work closely with Transport for London to monitor disruption to bus services in the area and take action if necessary,” it said. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and allow for extra time for their journeys. For traffic updates and to plan your route, visit TfL’s website.

Cadent Gas is carrying out major works to upgrade pipes in Wood Lane in White City. These are expected to “seriously affect” local traffic. The project will take place over several phases over 10 weeks.

The initial phase will be between Monday 13 October and Sunday 9 November. Temporary traffic lights will control traffic flow at the junction of Wood Lane, Scrubs Lane, and North Pole Road, while Bus Stop T on North End Road will be temporarily suspended until Sunday 26 October.

Between 10 November and Friday 19 December, Wood Lane Southbound will be closed between North Pole Road and Du Cane Road, while Nascot Street and Glenroy Street will also be closed. Drivers will be redirected to Caverswall Street. Bus stop Q northbound and K southbound in Wood Lane will be suspended at his time.

From Monday 1 December onwards, temporary traffic lights will be installed in Du Cane Road and bus stop C will be suspended. The southbound lane will continue to be closed.

H&F Council says it will “closely monitor” the works. For detailed information about the works or to contact Cadent Gas directly, visit the company’s dedicated webpage.
