RML Group Ltd unveils the P39 40th special edition hypercar

RML Group Ltd, a premier high-performance engineering firm in the UK, has announced the first production details of its highly anticipated P39 40th Special Edition (40SE) hypercar. Combining the cutting-edge design of Le Mans Hypercars with everyday road usability, the P39 40SE exemplifies RML’s commitment to engineering excellence and championship-winning performance.
Built on the foundation of the Porsche 992.1 Turbo S, the RML P39 40SE enhances every aspect of performance, ride quality, and handling. The result is a remarkable vehicle that surpasses the track capabilities of the Porsche 992 GT3 RS, all while remaining compliant for daily driving.
Michael Mallock, CEO of RML Group, expressed pride in the new model, stating, “What better way to showcase our leadership on road and track over 40 years than with the launch of a Le Mans Hypercar-inspired hypercar? Our new P39 40SE challenges everything that’s possible in this sector, comfortably eclipsing a GT3 RS at the Nordschleife while being relaxing and easy to drive home.”
To enhance handling, the RML P39 40SE features a wider track and a lengthened wheelbase, with a striking carbon fiber body inspired by the latest Le Mans Hypercar category. Advanced aerodynamics are incorporated, including front and rear active aero elements and a driver-activated drag reduction system (DRS) that minimizes aerodynamic drag on straights. This setup generates an astonishing 662kg of downforce at 150 mph, over 4.5 times that of a standard 992.1 911 Turbo S.
Powering the RML P39 40SE is a twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, boosted to 900bhp and 1,000Nm of torque through a range of upgrades. These enhancements allow for an expected Nordschleife lap time of 6 minutes and 45 seconds, a notable improvement over the standard Turbo S and GT3 RS.
The car features two distinct driving modes: a stiff Track Mode for optimum performance and a more relaxed Tour Mode for everyday usability. Inside, the vehicle celebrates RML’s four decades of engineering with custom sports seats, four-point harnesses, and a half roll cage.
Limited to just 10 units, the P39 40SE will be handcrafted at RML’s Wellingborough engineering centre, with a starting price of £495,000, excluding taxes and the donor vehicle. The first model is already in production, promising an exciting addition to the world of hypercars.
