Pilot training for Wandsworth residents now fully funded through Jet2 scheme

Pilot training for Wandsworth residents is now more accessible than ever, thanks to a fully funded programme launched by Jet2.com for aspiring pilots across the UK.
Jet2FlightPath is a new scheme offering 60 people the chance to train as commercial airline pilots without paying the usual £100,000-plus cost. With no previous flying experience required, this initiative opens the door for Wandsworth locals who’ve dreamt of becoming pilots but couldn’t afford the financial barrier.
Applicants must be at least 18 and have five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths and a science subject. Those selected will receive 18 months of professional Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) training through one of Jet2’s official partners in the UK, Spain or the United States.
Once qualified, trainees will go on to aircraft type-rating for either Airbus or Boeing planes, then take their place flying for Jet2.com — currently the UK’s third largest airline. The programme is designed not just to train pilots, but to immerse future crew in all areas of the airline’s operation, from cabin crew to ground services.
Jet2 says this approach helps cadets develop real understanding of the airline’s customer values and workplace culture. The scheme also aims to attract applicants from all backgrounds, promoting both accessibility and diversity within the aviation industry.
If you live in Wandsworth and have ever considered becoming a pilot, this may be your best opportunity to do it – without incurring any debt or needing to relocate just to begin.
Applications are now open. Find out more and apply through the Jet2FlightPath programme page.
