Massive Attack to Headline London’s New LIDO Festival with Eco-Friendly Performance
London’s summer festival scene is about to get even bigger, with the arrival of LIDO Festival at Victoria Park this June. Set across two weekends, the event is bringing an eclectic mix of artists to the capital, and now, one of the biggest names in British music has been confirmed. Massive Attack will headline on Friday, 6th June 2025, marking their first London festival appearance in nearly a decade.
Known for their genre-defining sound and visually striking live performances, the Bristol-based duo—Robert “3D” Del Naja and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall—are set to deliver a show that blends music, film, and political commentary in a way only they can. But this headline slot isn’t just about the music. The performance will be entirely battery-powered, making it the first 100% clean-energy festival day in London’s history. The group has partnered with clean energy provider Ecotricity to ensure their set drastically reduces carbon emissions and local air pollution, setting a new standard for sustainable live music.

Record-breaking success for the UK’s legendary festival.LIDO Festival has already lined up an impressive bill, and sharing the stage with Massive Attack will be an exciting mix of artists. French electronic pioneers Air, the newly formed project FORENSICS (a collaboration between Yasiin Bey and The Alchemist), and Mercury Prize-nominated singer Tirzah are all confirmed for the Friday lineup. With more names still to be announced, it’s shaping up to be an unmissable night for London’s music lovers.
Massive Attack’s commitment to sustainability isn’t new. They’ve long advocated for the music industry to address its environmental impact, and this LIDO headline slot follows their previous ACT1.5 event, where they tested similar green energy solutions. Speaking about the festival, Del Naja said that blending art and science is often the key to tackling major challenges, and LIDO’s decision to implement battery-powered technology for an entire festival day is a promising step forward.
Tickets for the festival and to see Massive Attack go on sale at 10 am on Friday, 21st February, with a presale opening a day earlier at 10 am on Thursday, 20th February. Those keen to secure early access can sign up via the LIDO Festival website. While ticket prices haven’t been confirmed yet, other headline days at the festival have ranged between £75 and £85, so a similar cost is expected.
The festival itself will run across two weekends in June, with other headliners including Jamie xx on 7th June, Charli XCX on 14th June, and London Grammar on 15th June. Each day brings its own unique lineup, promising something for everyone, from electronic music fans to indie lovers.
With its focus on sustainability and a diverse lineup of artists, LIDO Festival is shaping up to be one of London’s most exciting new music events. For anyone looking to experience a live show that combines world-class performances with an eco-conscious ethos, this is one to watch.
