Manchester United are making early moves in this summer’s transfer window, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin reportedly on their radar. The 28-year-old striker has just left Everton as a free agent, sparking speculation that United might snap him up to bolster their attacking options.
The club is also at the centre of another major deal involving Jadon Sancho. Juventus are said to be pushing for a move and may offer Brazil international Douglas Luiz in return, an intriguing swap that could strengthen United’s midfield depth if it materialises. Juventus haven’t stopped there; they’re also keeping tabs on Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma, suggesting the Italian side is actively reshaping its core.
Meanwhile, two other England stars, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish, are attracting headlines for very different reasons. Both players, currently with Manchester United and Manchester City respectively, are reportedly available for as little as £40 million. That sort of valuation for players of their calibre is rare and will no doubt prompt serious interest. Barcelona are even believed to be considering a loan deal for Rashford with an option to buy.
There’s movement outside the UK too. Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Enrique has dismissed any suggestion that Bradley Barcola will leave, despite Bayern Munich reportedly showing interest. In Spain, Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has had early talks with Saudi club Al-Nassr, while Mario Balotelli could be on his way to the US or Mexico after departing Genoa.
Closer to home, Chelsea have put a £35 million price tag on Christopher Nkunku, while also watching Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri. Tottenham’s Son Heung-min, meanwhile, looks set to reject a switch to Los Angeles FC even though he’s open to a change. In the Championship, Sunderland appear close to securing Belgian-born Morocco international Chemsdine Talbi from Club Brugge.
The transfer dominoes don’t stop there. Norwich’s Josh Sargent is attracting attention from Burnley and Leeds, though a bid from Wolfsburg reportedly fell short of his £16 million valuation. In South America, Flamengo have tabled a £5 million offer for West Brom’s Mikey Johnston.
Back in Portugal, Arsenal’s long-standing interest in Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres remains, though the striker has shown no interest in a Saudi move. Sporting may now accept a structured payment plan for the Sweden international. Over in Italy, Inter Milan have reportedly turned down a €17 million bid for Hakan Calhanoglu from Galatasaray, valuing the player at nearly twice that figure.
Whether you’re watching from Manchester or Madrid, this summer’s transfer season is heating up, and Premier League clubs look set to play a central role in how it unfolds.
