BBC Sport’s five-year deal for the Women’s Super League will keep top-flight women’s football accessible to fans across the UK until 2030. Under the new agreement, the BBC will air 21 WSL matches each season, with 14 exclusive to BBC television and seven available on BBC iPlayer and BBC digital platforms from the 2025-26 season.
In addition to television broadcasts, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Sounds, and local BBC radio stations will air selected WSL matches, expanding accessibility for fans on multiple platforms. Highlights, goals, and clips from every fixture will be available on the BBC Sport website, app, and social channels, further increasing visibility for women’s football.

The broadcasting deal with BBC Sport complements Sky Sports’ coverage, which will continue to broadcast WSL matches as well. With Sky’s exclusive rights to 78 matches per season, the combined reach of BBC and Sky is set to enhance the WSL’s profile and bring the sport to a larger audience.
“It’s great to see the WSL growing and growing, and I’m delighted that the BBC is carrying on as a partner on that journey,” said Alex Kay-Jelski, director of BBC Sport. “We remain the most-used sports broadcaster in the UK, providing unparalleled cross-platform coverage, so it’s brilliant to be able to continue bringing the WSL to audiences as part of our free-to-air portfolio.”
A Growing Partnership for Women’s Football
Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL) chief executive Nikki Doucet shared her enthusiasm for BBC Sport’s five-year deal, emphasising the positive impact on the sport. “Agreeing the next cycle of broadcast rights was a priority for us, and we are very fortunate to have two premium broadcast partners in Sky Sports and the BBC who believe in the future and value of women’s football as much as we do,” Doucet commented. “The growth of the game is undeniable, and this deal is another step in the right direction and positive news for the fans, the players, and the clubs.”
Expanded Coverage on Sky Sports
As part of the deal, Sky Sports will also broadcast matches from the Women’s Championship and the Women’s League Cup for the first time, marking a significant expansion of their women’s football coverage. In addition to its exclusive 78 WSL matches, Sky will air 34 matches on the Women’s Professional Leagues Limited’s (WPLL) YouTube channel, making these games accessible to an even broader audience.
