TfL Weekend Closures and Disruptions: Plan Ahead

TfL has announced planned closures and disruptions across the Jubilee, Piccadilly, and Elizabeth lines, as well as several Overground services, this weekend (17th – 19th January). Travellers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and check for alternative routes, as replacement buses will operate in some areas. Whether you’re commuting or planning a weekend outing, here’s what to expect.

On the Jubilee line, there will be no service between Finchley Road and Stratford in the early hours of Saturday, 18th January, followed by a closure between Green Park and Stratford for the remainder of the weekend. Replacement bus services, including JL3 and JL4, will operate in these areas but may bypass certain stops due to roadworks.

The Piccadilly line continues to face disruptions, with no service between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge due to ongoing repairs to train damage caused by leaf fall. Commuters are encouraged to seek alternative routes.

The Elizabeth line will not operate between Maidenhead and Reading on Sunday, 19th January, until 11:30 am. Replacement bus W3 will run between Maidenhead, Twyford, and Reading.

For Overground services, closures include the following:

  • Mildmay: No service between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction, or between Gospel Oak and Stratford, with replacement buses serving parts of the route.
  • Lioness: Limited service between Euston and Kilburn High Road, with no service until 12 pm and after 8:30 pm. Replacement buses will be available.
  • Weaver: No service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town/Cheshunt until 10:15 am, with buses L1 and L2 operating on these routes.
  • Windrush: No service between Sydenham and Crystal Palace on Sunday, 19th January.

These closures and disruptions are part of ongoing maintenance and improvement works, ensuring the network remains safe and reliable for future use. TfL recommends using their Journey Planner or checking their website for live updates and alternative travel options.
