The Italian company made a triumphant return to GT racing in 2023 with the Maserati GT2, debuting at the Fanatec GT2 European Series during the final race of the season at Circuit Paul Ricard. The first season ended with a drivers’ title in the Am class, 16 pole positions, 12 victories, seven silver, and five bronze medals.

The streak is continuing into the current 2025 season, with the fourth round taking place at Spa in Belgium.

In 2026, the GT2 European Series will expand to include a Silver class to run alongside its Pro-Am and Am classes. A three-hour endurance race during Spa Speedweek is also being considered as part of a six-round calendar. GT2 Europe will also add an SRO GT Academy prize to give Silver drivers a full season of racing in the Silver or Pro-Am class in the GT World Challenge Europe – Endurance Cup from 2027.
