HMS Belfast offers 2-for-1 entry with TfL Partnership

HMS Belfast, one of London’s most iconic landmarks, is offering visitors the chance to explore its fascinating history for less, thanks to a new partnership with TfL. The collaboration allows passengers who travel by public transport to enjoy 2-for-1 entry to this historic warship, which has been permanently moored on the River Thames since 1971.

Built in 1936, HMS Belfast served in significant naval campaigns, including the D-Day landings, Arctic convoys, and the Korean War. Today, it stands as a living museum, offering visitors a unique glimpse into life aboard one of the Royal Navy’s largest light cruisers. With nine decks to explore, guests can learn about the 900 crew who once called the ship home, sit in the Captain’s chair, and delve into the heart of the vessel to discover its impressive machinery.

Julie Dixon, Head of Customer Information, Design and Partnerships at TfL, expressed her excitement about the new offer: “London is brimming with amazing historical and cultural attractions, and we hope our partnership with HMS Belfast will encourage even more Londoners and visitors to explore this iconic warship. This offer provides a fantastic way to enjoy one of the city’s cultural gems at a reduced price.”

HMS Belfast is not only significant for its naval history, but also for its place in popular culture. It has appeared in the 2012 Olympic Games, the launch of Daniel Craig as James Bond, and even in BBC’s Killing Eve and an Eminem performance. Located near the Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral, the ship is easily accessible from London Bridge Underground station.

Daniel Schnable, Site Manager of HMS Belfast, added, “A visit to HMS Belfast is a journey through history. From the depths of the Shell Room to the Gun Direction Platform, there’s so much to discover about Britain’s naval heritage.”

This new partnership is part of TfL’s wider initiative to offer discounts at London’s top attractions, making it easier for both locals and tourists to explore the capital’s cultural treasures.
