Health walks encouraging residents to get outside and enjoy fresh air

Richmond upon Thames is inviting people to “start spring enjoying the fresh air” through its regular volunteer-led health walks “for people of all abilities. These walks are “friendly, welcoming, and empowering, it said, adding that they are a “great opportunity to explore the outdoors, discover new places, and meet new people.”

The health walks are free, organised group walks for anyone who is looing to get more active. These “gentle walks” take place in groups and provide a “safe and social atmosphere.” Each walk takes between 45 and 70 minutes and is led by a trained volunteer leader. Participants are encouraged to “go at a pace that is comfortable” to them.
