Free drinks in London this Wednesday as Craft Union pubs turn 10
If you’re planning an after-work pint or a midweek catch-up, this is one to note. A wave of free drinks in London is heading our way this Wednesday, 14th May, as part of a nationwide celebration marking the tenth anniversary of Craft Union pubs.
The pub group, which runs more than 500 boozers across the UK, is offering 10,000 free drinks to mark the occasion and dozens of participating London pubs are on the list. From The Old Oak in Hampstead to The Seahorse on Fleet Street, Londoners can bag a complimentary pint of Birra Moretti, a Gordon’s gin and tonic, or a Coca-Cola-supplied soft drink, as long as you get there early.
The giveaway is limited to one drink per customer and each pub has a set allocation. So if you’re heading down with friends, it’s first come, first served. And yes, you’ll need to be over 18 and able to show ID if asked.
For those unsure where their nearest Craft Union pub is, you might be surprised, many of them are well-known locals. They include the Queen Victoria in Bermondsey, the Globe in Hackney, the Old George in Bethnal Green, and the Volunteer in Plumstead, among many others. The offer is only valid this Wednesday and only at participating locations.

It’s a rare thing these days to be offered a free round, especially in the capital — so this celebratory gesture hasn’t gone unnoticed by punters. With warmer weather on the way, many are likely to make the most of a drink in the sunshine, courtesy of a community boozer.
