Cybertruck filled with fuel and fireworks explodes by Trump Hotel in Las Vegas

Las Vegas police have launched an investigation after a Tesla Cybertruck exploded. The electric vehicle had been filled with fuel canisters and firework mortars and was outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas.
The explosion killed the driver and injured seven people. All of their injuries were minor, police said.
The Cybertruck had been rented in Colorado, arriving in Las Vegas on Wednesday morning, less than two hours before it exploded, according to police. Parked in front of the hotel near a glass entrance, it began to smoke before exploding.
US President Joe Biden said that the White House would be tracking the incident and law enforcement are investigating “whether there’s any possible connection with the attack in New Orleans” which killed 15 people on New Year’s Day.
Sherriff Kevin McMahill showed the dramatic footage of the Cybertruck exploding at an afternoon press conference, along with photos of the aftermath. This included the fuel canisters and large fireworks in the bed of the Cybertruck.
The footage showed it parked directly in front of the entrance of the hotel, sitting still for several seconds before exploding. Another video showed investigators using a black fire-retardant tarp to fight the blaze, as well as the charred remains of its truck bed. Gas and fuel canisters were left behind along with over a dozen firework mortars.
This happened just hours after a man drove a truck with an Islamic State flag into a crowd of people in New Orleans, killing 15 people and injuring dozens more.
