Broad Arrow to host its inaugural Concorso d’Eleganza auction
London’s classic car enthusiasts have their eyes set on Lake Como this May, as Broad Arrow Auctions prepares to host its inaugural Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este Auction. Scheduled for 24–25 May 2025, the event promises a showcase of over 70 exceptional vehicles, with the 1948 Ferrari 166 Spyder Corsa taking centre stage.
This particular Ferrari 166 Spyder Corsa, chassis 004 C, is notable for being the first customer competition car built by Enzo Ferrari. Retaining its original V12 engine and bodywork by Carrozzeria Ansaloni, it’s a piece of automotive history that’s never before been offered at public auction. Its racing pedigree includes participation in the 1948 Targa Florio and Mille Miglia, making it a significant draw for collectors.
Another highlight is the 1938 Talbot-Lago T150 C Lago Spéciale Teardrop Coupé by Figoni et Falaschi. This unique vehicle, with its distinctive teardrop design and bespoke features, exemplifies pre-war automotive elegance. Commissioned by German banker Antoine Schumann, it boasts a rare Bleu ‘Tango’ Irisée Noire finish and has a well-documented history, including a class win at the 1948 24 Hours of Spa.
The auction also features the sole-surviving 1949 Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport Coupe by Dubos Frères, a 1939 Lagonda V12 Rapide James Young Drophead Coupé, and a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS with Ferrari Classiche certification. Each vehicle represents a unique chapter in automotive history, offering collectors a chance to own a piece of the past.
For UK enthusiasts unable to attend in person, Broad Arrow offers online bidding options, ensuring global access to this prestigious event. Interested parties can view the full catalogue and register to bid through Broad Arrow Auctions.
