Jeep continues to demonstrate its strong performance in the European market, thanks in part to the new Avenger, achieving a significant milestone by registering over 100,700 vehicles by the end of September 2024. This marks a 3.5% increase compared to the same period last year, and Jeep now holds a 1% share in the European passenger car market, up by 0.03% from 2023.
Eric Laforge, Head of Jeep Brand Enlarged Europe, attributed this success to Jeep’s commitment to delivering vehicles that embody the spirit of freedom and adventure. Laforge highlighted the role of the brand’s first fully electric SUV, the Jeep Avenger, which has been pivotal in Jeep’s European growth. He emphasized the importance of innovation and sustainability, stating, “The remarkable reception of the Jeep Avenger is a testament to our innovative spirit… It not only reflects our dedication to sustainability but also reinforces our promise of ‘Freedom of Choice.'”
Jeep’s success extends across several key European markets. Nearly 50% of the brand’s total registrations were outside of its home market, Italy. In France, Jeep saw a remarkable 61% growth, with nearly 9,000 units registered. The UK market also experienced significant growth, with over 6,000 units registered—an impressive 155% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, Jeep registrations rose by 81%, contributing to a growing market share.
A major driver of this growth has been the Jeep Avenger. As of August 2024, it ranks among the top three fully electric compact SUVs in Europe, with notable performances in France, the Netherlands, and Italy. The Avenger, which is also available in an e-Hybrid version, further highlighting its commercial appeal.
Jeep plans to expand its lineup with the upcoming Avenger 4xe, which will offer all-wheel drive and further enhance its reputation for versatility and choice.
