West London Gators Open New Basketball Season – New Players Welcome
Fired up by the recent excitement of the Olympics and looking to sharpen your basketball skills? The West London Gators, one of the capital’s most successful basketball clubs, are gearing up for a new season at Hammersmith Academy, starting this Wednesday, 4th September. New recruits of all ages and abilities are welcome to join and be part of the community that gathers weekly to improve their game.
Located at the top-class facilities on Cathnor Road, Shepherd’s Bush, the Gators run sessions every Wednesday from 6 pm for players aged six to 15. The club, known for its inclusive and supportive environment, regularly attracts around 350 members eager to polish their hoop moves. It’s a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to develop their skills and be part of a winning team.
Last year, the Gators’ Under-14 team topped the London One Conference in Basketball England’s National League, losing only twice throughout the season. This remarkable achievement propelled them into the Under-14 Premier Division, where they continue to compete at a high level. The club’s success is a testament to its strong coaching, community spirit, and dedication to nurturing talent at every level.
Club founder Mike Kwentoh encourages new players to get involved, regardless of experience. “We’re always happy to welcome newcomers,” he says. Whether you’re looking to play competitively or just for fun, the West London Gators offer a fantastic environment to enjoy the sport and make new friends.
