Wellness Weekender returns to Wandsworth in June

Look out for the next Wandsworth Wellness Weekender on 14th and 15th June, a weekend that is full of free activities to get families active during the summer of sport. Whether you want to try your hand at badminton or get involved in rugby for beginners ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup later this year, this is the perfect opportunity to try new activities, meet other local families, and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

You can even get a free five-day pass at participating sport and leisure centres, so you can try everything on offer and see what suits you best.  These free activities are part of the borough’s Wandsworth Moves Together leisure strategy, promising “bold action to help more of our residents get active every day.”

“Following the success of the first Wandsworth Wellness Weekender earlier this year, we’re delighted to bring it back again to encourage more residents to get active,” Paul White, Cabinet Member for Environment, said. “There are lots of ways residents can move more in our fantastic leisure centres and parks, and we’re proud to be making these spaces available to more people through our Wandsworth Moves Together strategy. Please gather your friends and family and sign up for as many sessions as you can. We look forward to seeing you there!”

As part of the Wandsworth Wellness Weekender, residents can get a free five-day pass for participating leisure and sports centres in the borough. This will include free access to the gym, swimming and classes at participating venues during the five-day period. Participating venues include all leisure centres and sports centres (with the exception of Barn Elms Boathouse, Falcon Park and Furzedown Recreation Centre).
