Wandsworth winter support includes free meals and warm spaces

Community Spaces are reopening, which are the Council funded spaces that provide warm, welcoming places for all Wandsworth residents during the colder months. These spaces, some Council-owned and others run by community groups, offer a place to connect, enjoy a hot drink or meal, and access council services.

Council Leader Simon Hogg said: “We know that many people in Wandsworth are facing real hardship this winter because of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. Lots of people are having to make really difficult choices about eating properly or keeping warm, which is why we’ve created our network of Community Spaces to provide a safe place to go for those who need it.
“We are determined to do all we can to make a difference, by offering a compassionate helping hand and supporting our residents through these difficult winter months.
“Our £15 million Cost of Living support fund is the biggest and most generous in London, and we will keep investing it where it makes the most difference to people’s lives.”
Other support available includes:
- £300 Winter support payments for pensioners
- Warm Home Packs for eligible residents
- Access for All leisure offer
- Crisis Assistance payments
- Free school meals auto enrolment
