As a personal trainer, I have seen the life changing benefits of a retreat in my clients. I have been organising fitness holidays for over a decade in various location around the world. Many of my clients have made strong friendships with each other and return each year. Those already fit and healthy, improved further, enjoying the opportunity for extra training and optimal sleep and nutrition to realise their true potential. Complete beginners have discovered how a healthy lifestyle overhaul is more achievable and enjoyable than they ever thought possible. Not feeling intimated in a gym environment and being surrounded by supportive friendly people can make all the difference. Exercise, sleep, food and fun are the perfect recipe for success. Waking up bursting with energy, feeling refreshed and full of happiness is the best motivation to keep up these healthy habits.
I always like to include a wellness seminar or workshop, equipping attendees with tools to sustain their progress long after the retreat concludes. Understanding exactly why healthy eating habits and exercise routines work really motivates people to make lifelong changes. Depending on the type of retreat, I offer various talks ranging from nutrition, sleep and recovery, brain health, healthy ageing or stress management. Despite my science background, I try and make these talks easy to understand, engaging and interesting and not too academic. Attendees return home not only feeling revitalised but armed with practical knowledge to maintain their newfound vitality.
Last year I teamed up with personal trainer, James Barlow, to launch transformative fitness at The Retreat. In 2025 we will be offering a range of retreats around the globe, each one slightly different. In January we will be heading to Sri Lanka to combine Cross Fit and Hyrox style training with traditional Sri Lankan cooking lessons, Surfing and Safari. In March we will be getting some well needed sun in Florida. This luxury trip will have a strong focus on body weight training, nutrition and sleep as well as getting in some fun trips to the Kennedy Space Station and hopefully see alligators and dolphins. In spring and autumn we will had back to Barcelona for our signature retreat, think luxury boat trips, delicious food and a scavenger hunt following clues, solving puzzles and completing fitness challenges with the chance to win big! There will of course be our usual combination of weight training, HIIT, running and yoga. In the summer months we will be heading to the Bavarian Alps for our Hardcore German Bootcamp. As well as stunning views, expect mountain hikes, bike rides, spin, weightlifting, HIIT, personal training and athletic stretching.
