Gran Turismo 7 competition launched by Polestar

Polestar has announced the launch of a Gran Turismo 7 competition for the UK, giving gamers a chance to “experience the upcoming launch of its electric model in the PlayStation game. Driving simulators will be available at selected Polestar Spaces across the country to allow local competitors to take part, getting behind the virtual simulator wheel of the company’s electric 4-door Polestar 5 before launch. Lap times will be entered into a nation-wide leaderboard.

The fastest driver at each Space will then go head-to-head in a live final in Battersea Power Station in February 2026, with the winner receiving an all-expenses paid trip to Sweden.

The Gran Turismo 7 set-ups will tour four Polestar Spaces, giving people multiple chances to take part:

  • Polestar Sheffield – 11 December 2025 to 7 January 2026
  • Polestar Cribbs Causeway – 11 December 2025 to 7 January 2026
  • Polestar Solihull – 9 Jan to 3 Feb 2026

Visitors can drop in, set their fastest lap, and join the competition leaderboard without a booking.

“The experience for visitors and customers,” says Polestar, “has been tailored to give the most accurate digital experience of the new Polestar 5. Both Polestar and Polyphony Digital [the developers of the Gran Turismo series], a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment, granted each other unprecedented access to their development facilities and teams. The result was both brands working together to create a wholly accurate digital representation of Polestar 5.”

Working with racing driver and sim-racer Igor Fraga, the two companies have “faithfully translated the dynamic qualities of Polestar 5” into Gran Turismo 7. Fraga received special access to a prototype and R&D “experts” at the company’s facilities in Sweden before a “final sign-off” at Brands Hatch in the UK.
