Disney Honours Harrison Ford, Angela Bassett, Miley Cyrus as New ‘Legends’
In a celebration of the talents that have defined Disney’s rich legacy, the company will honour 14 influential figures with the prestigious ‘Disney Legends’ status. Among the honourees are Hollywood icons like Harrison Ford and Angela Bassett, who have each left an indelible mark on Disney’s history. Joining them are the likes of Miley Cyrus, known for her breakout role in Hannah Montana, and director James Cameron, whose films have captivated audiences worldwide. The induction will take place during a star-studded ceremony at The Honda Center in Anaheim, California, as part of the D23 fan convention.
Harrison Ford, already immortalised on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, will be recognised again for his significant contributions, including his recent involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Angela Bassett, celebrated for her roles in Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will also be honoured, as will Miley Cyrus, the youngest recipient this year, who transitioned from Disney Channel star to Grammy-winning artist.
This year’s inductees also include notable behind-the-scenes creatives such as costume designer Colleen Atwood and animator Mark Henn. Their contributions have shaped the Disney magic that fans have cherished for generations.
This tradition of recognising extraordinary talent has seen over 300 individuals inducted since its inception in 1987, joining legends like Elton John, Steve Jobs, and Betty White. The ceremony, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, promises to be a fitting tribute to these icons who have shaped Disney’s past, present, and future.
