Cultural Reforesting exhibition brings nature and art together

Londoners looking for an immersive artistic experience with a thought-provoking environmental message should head to Orleans House Gallery this spring. Until 31st August 2025, Cultural Reforesting transforms the Twickenham gallery into a vibrant space where creativity meets ecology, inviting visitors to reimagine their connection with the natural world.

Curated to engage audiences of all ages, Cultural Reforesting brings together a diverse group of artists whose works explore themes of sustainability, biodiversity, and our role in nature. Through sculpture, sound, video, and interactive installations, the exhibition challenges visitors to see themselves as active participants in the environment rather than separate from it. The exhibition aims to ignite fresh conversations about the environmental challenges of our time, using artistic storytelling to inspire reflection and action.

Councillor John Coombs, Richmond Council’s Spokesperson for Arts, highlighted the significance of the exhibition, stating: “Richmond upon Thames has long been a place where creativity and nature meet, and ‘Cultural Reforesting’ brings this connection to life in a powerful way. Art has a unique ability to help us engage with big issues, like climate change, in ways that are emotional, imaginative, and inspiring. This exhibition is a chance for people of all ages to step into a world of ideas, explore their own relationship with nature, and leave feeling part of something bigger. I encourage everyone to come and experience it.”

The artists featured in Cultural Reforesting have spent years exploring ecological themes, from the intelligence of plants to the interconnected lives of humans and animals. The exhibition encourages visitors to experience nature not just as an observer but as a participant, fostering a deeper appreciation for the world around them.

Orleans House Gallery, managed by Richmond Arts Service, is known for hosting engaging free exhibitions that connect art, culture, and the community. Cultural Reforesting is part of an ongoing programme supporting artists who explore themes of sustainability and nature, making it a must-visit event for those passionate about environmental issues and creative expression.
