7 rings, 7 days: Wandsworth launches a new resident guarantee
Simon Hogg, Leader of Wandsworth Council, has announced the 7 rings, 7 days pledge during an event at Apple’s office in Battersea Power Station where he addressed local businesses, partners and community leaders. The 7 rings, 7 days guarantee hopes to make it easier for residents to get in touch and ensure faster repairs across the borough.
The new 7 rings guarantee means calls to the council’s dedicated 0208 871 6000 number will be answered by a member of staff within 7 rings. A new email address of hello@wandsworth.gov.uk is also available for residents to get in touch.
“We recognise that good customer service must be paired with swift action to resolve the issues raised,” the council said. “If a resident reports graffiti, a broken street sign, or a dangerous pothole, it will be fixed within 7 days. This is to ensure everyone can have pride in their neighbourhood.
A digital dashboard will be published on the council’s website from 7 February with weekly stats on the success rate of the 7 rings, 7 days commitment, along with monthly updates on actions taken to reach a 100 per cent success rate.
Additionally, every household is now being offered two free bulky waste collections a year – saving households £47 each – in an “ambitious” new move to achieve cleaner streets across the borough. This has been paired with a commitment to retain weekly waste and recycling collections, alongside expanding much-loved Mega Skip Days.
As Wandsworth gets ready to host London Borough of Culture 2025, the council’s branding has also been refocused to align with this unique opportunity to showcase the borough and all that it offers as “a thriving and vibrant place to live.”
The culture title is a first for Wandsworth and provides the opportunity to bring residents and partners together under a refreshed and updated identity for the borough.
