Sustainability Forum: Share your thoughts
Mark, 26th March, on your calendar for the next Richmond Sustainability Forum. You’ll hear about a variety of exciting local projects—including an exclusive preview of a new art and nature exhibition—and have the chance to share your ideas for creating a greener future in the borough.
The event will be held at The Coach House, Orleans House Gallery, Orleans Road, Twickenham, TW1 3BL. You can register your free space on Eventbrite.
Attendees to the Sustainability Forum will have the opportunity to participate in interactive discussions about the new strategy for 2025-30 and help shape the final version before it is presented in June. The strategy will drive the borough towards its goals to become a carbon-neutral Council by 2030 and a Net Zero Borough by 2043 and has five key focus areas:
- Making buildings more energy efficient
- Expanding sustainable transport and reducing air pollution
- Enhancing green spaces and supporting biodiversity
- Moving toward a zero-waste economy
- Preparing the borough for climate impacts, like flooding and extreme heat
In addition to these discussions, attendees will have an exclusive preview of the Cultural Reforesting exhibition, opening at Orleans House Gallery on Thursday 27 March. This exhibition explores the role of art and culture in strengthening the “connection with nature and tackling the climate crisis.”
You will also receive updates on the Community BlueScapes flood resilience programme and a new Adaptation and Resilience Strategy
You can view the full agenda and sign up on Eventbrite.
If you can’t make the Forum, you can still share your views on the draft Climate and Nature Strategy before 5 May through our consultation hub.
“We encourage everyone to travel sustainably where possible,” the council says in a press release. “The gallery is a short walk from St Margarets Station. There are footpath, cycle and bus routes for visitors coming from Richmond and Twickenham.”
