St George’s Day Festival Returns to Trafalgar Square 2025
Mark your calendars for Monday, 21st April 2025, as the St George’s Day Festival makes its much-anticipated return to Trafalgar Square. This free, family-friendly event celebrates England’s rich heritage with a vibrant mix of live music, dance, and cultural activities, running from 12pm to 6pm.
Hosted by singer-songwriter Harleymoon Kemp, the festival promises an eclectic lineup of performances. Attendees can look forward to the soulful tunes of Matilda Gracia, the jazz rhythms of The Nigel Grice Jazz Collective, and traditional English folk from the English Folk Dance and Song Society. Dance enthusiasts will enjoy high-energy performances by South London-based group BirdGang and a lively ceilidh led by Cut A Shine to conclude the festivities.
The square will be alive with interactive experiences, including appearances by St George and his dragon, traditional Morris dancing from the Belles of London City, and the chance to meet the iconic Pearly Kings and Queens. Food stalls offering classic English fare will ensure no one goes hungry.
Mayor Sadiq Khan expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m delighted that our St George’s Day celebrations return to Trafalgar Square this month. Londoners and visitors can enjoy an afternoon of free, family-friendly entertainment in the heart of our capital.”
