SEN Graduation Joy in Hammersmith

Parents and residents in Hammersmith are celebrating as local SEN graduation joy took centre stage at Rivercourt Methodist Church on 4 July. Supporting students with special educational needs, was highlighted when Mayor Sharon Holder joined the ceremony organised by Hammersmith & Fulham Council.
At the heart of the celebration, around 30 students from the Macbeth Centre received awards for their dedication to employment projects, pre‑employment skills, personal development, and life skills like English, maths and cookery. The Macbeth Centre, based in Hammersmith, provides tailored courses and support to ensure no one is left behind.
The SEN graduation ceremony also featured dance, yoga and drama performances, culminating in a lively conga line that got everyone involved. The programme emphasises empowering residents with disabilities and additional needs, through practical, confidence-building activities.
“It’s truly inspiring to see how our tutors from the Macbeth Centre have helped Disabled residents thrive and feel part of our community,” Cllr Sharon Holder, Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham who joined the ceremony to give out this year’s awards said. “We’re helping these students build skills, confidence and connections. This embodies our commitment to building a borough that is stronger, safer and kinder for all.”
