Santander Cycles half-price rides for World Car Free Day

TfL and Santander Cycles are encouraging Londoners to “get into the sustainable spirit,” offering half-price monthly cycle hire subscriptions to mark World Car Free Day, Monday 22nd September.

The offer, redeemable via the Santander Cycles app, aims to encourage more people to “experience the joy of cycling,” and is open to new members who take out a month’s subscription before the 23rd September. The offer enables riders to get a month’s subscription for £10, rather than the usual £20 monthly fee. To take advantage of the offer, input the code CFD25 when taking out a monthly membership.

This comes following a successful summer for the cycle hire scheme, with Cycle Sundays proving to be popular with riders in August, thanks to the introduction of e-bikes to the Cycle Sundays free Day Pass offer this year.

Over 10,000 free Day Passes were redeemed on Sundays in August, and over 30,000 hires wee made. This was a 96% increase in compared with its campaign in 2024.

TfL will also work in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to make journeys in the capital more sustainable as part of World Car Free Day on the 22nd. Londoners are encouraged to download the WWF My Footprint app and take the challenge to swap car journeys for TfL trips, and “help tackle climate change one journey at a time.”
