The Louvre is home to the mysterious Mona Lisa and countless other masterpieces. One of the attractions that stands out here is The Winged Victory of Samothrace. Do go and take a look as it is truly breathtaking! Created around 190 BCE, this marble statue represents Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, poised on the prow of a ship, presumably to commemorate a naval triumph. No trip to Paris is complete with visiting the majestic Notre-Dame. The world was both captivated and horrified by scenes of this famous Medieval structure a blaze back in April, 2019. The fire caused significant damage to the iconic structure, including the collapse of its spire and most of the roof. However, while the cathedral is still undergoing extensive restoration work it is well worth a visit.

If you feel less like following the sports and more inclined to soak up some arts and culture then head to Montmartre. Located in the 20th arrondissement, here you’ll find the graves of legends like Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, and Edith Piaf, each with its own unique story. The tree-lined paths and ornate tombs create a serene atmosphere that’s perfect for a quiet, reflective stroll.
