Mornine debuts AI Assistant in future car dealer
If you’ve popped into a car dealership recently, you’ve probably been handed a brochure or offered a coffee by a staff member. But what if, instead, you were greeted by a humanoid robot with fluent English, perfect manners, and detailed product knowledge? That’s the future Chery International is envisioning with the debut of its AiMOGA Robot Mornine – a new AI-powered humanoid designed to assist car buyers inside dealerships operated by OMODA & JAECOO.
The AiMOGA Robot Mornine is more than just a high-tech gimmick. It’s a fully interactive intelligent sales consultant capable of guiding customers around the showroom, serving refreshments, and explaining model specs like the OMODA 7 SHS and the all-electric JAECOO 5 BEV. It even understands gestures and spoken commands thanks to its multimodal sensing technology. While the robot has already started pilot testing in Malaysia, the buzz is growing about a possible future launch in the UK.
With 73 OMODA & JAECOO dealerships already established across the UK, British car buyers could soon find themselves welcomed not by a human but by Mornine, the AiMOGA Robot. While there’s no official UK release date just yet, its recent showcase at the Shanghai International Auto Exhibition sparked plenty of interest, especially as it demonstrated its ability to discuss the brand’s Super Hybrid System in real time.
What sets Mornine apart from previous dealership tech is its full-stack capability. The robot can perceive its environment through integrated cameras and sensors, reason with advanced AI algorithms, and physically interact with its surroundings using a bionic motion system. In simple terms, it walks upright, talks with clarity, and can even collaborate with other robots for tasks like showroom tours and admin work.
While this might sound like science fiction, it’s actually part of a growing trend. As the car buying experience becomes more digital and customer expectations evolve, automotive brands are exploring new ways to add value. From virtual test drives to smart diagnostics, intelligent automation is no longer the future – it’s the present. And with the UK’s increasing embrace of AI and EV technology, Mornine’s eventual arrival seems more a question of when than if.
As AI becomes a growing presence in both public and commercial life in Britain, innovations like Mornine are a sign of how automation might enhance – not replace – human roles. Dealership staff will likely work alongside intelligent tools, focusing on more nuanced customer service while AI handles routine queries and logistics.
