Malta named among best in Europe to retire in

One of the smallest nations in Europe, Malta has been named among the best countries to retire in by Global Citizen Solutions, behind only Portugal and Spain. The island nation on the Mediterranean is renowned for its history, stunning archaeological sites, scenic beaches and welcoming towns.
“Malta boasts an incredible healthcare system, attractive property prices, fantastic tax exemptions and incentives, political stability, a wide range of entertainment options, ideal year-round weather, and a large English-speaking population, among other things,”
according to the report.
Nestled between Italy and Libya it has a population of little over half a million. Because of its unique location in the heart of the Mediterranean, its culture has seen influence from all around including Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Despite a difficult past, it is ranked by the World Bank as being among the safest in Europe.
