This incident occurred early Friday morning in the Marsh Farm area, leaving residents reeling and the town seeking answers.

The suspect, Nicholas Prosper, from Leabank, was apprehended shortly after police discovered the bodies of his family members—Juliana Prosper, 48, Kyle Prosper, 16, and Giselle Prosper, 13—inside a flat at Leabank. Although formal identification is pending, the victims have been tentatively named by Bedfordshire Police. The suspect, who has also been charged with multiple firearm offences, is scheduled to appear at Luton Magistrates’ Court on 16th September.

Upon arrival, officers were confronted with a harrowing scene: three individuals had sustained fatal injuries. Following a search of the surrounding area, a firearm was recovered, although it remains unclear at this stage how it is connected to the crime.

Detective Superintendent Rob Hall of the region’s major crime unit described the events as deeply distressing. “First and foremost, our thoughts are with the three people who sadly lost their lives yesterday and their loved ones,” Hall stated, urging the public to respect the privacy of the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. Police have confirmed that officers will remain at the site as investigations continue, hoping to piece together the circumstances that led to this devastating incident.
