Kew Horticultural Society to celebrate the season
The Kew Horticultural Society invites residents on Saturday, 24th August, to celebrate the 79th Summer Show on Kew Green. This beloved annual event promises a vibrant display of local talent, community spirit, and horticultural wonders.
The traditional produce fair will feature an exhibition marquee overflowing with fresh vegetables, fruit, flowers, baked goods, and crafts. In addition to the stunning displays, visitors can browse horticultural-themed stalls offering books, jewellery, plants, perfumes, and more.
Families can enjoy a lively atmosphere with live music, along with Punch & Judy shows to entertain the little ones throughout the day. For those seeking refreshments, a food court will serve delicious homemade cakes, tea, coffee, and traditional lemonade.
Residents are encouraged to get involved in the festivities by entering their homegrown produce, flowers, cakes, or crafts into one of over 100 categories. There are also special classes for children, making it a fun event for all ages. The event also highlights sustainability and the importance of growing your own produce, with stalls promoting eco-friendly practices. As one of the longest-running events in the area, the Summer Show not only showcases the best of Kew’s green-fingered residents but also fosters a sense of community and environmental awareness.
