Joe Powell Wins Kensington and Bayswater Seat in 2024 General Election
The General Election on 4th July, 2024, saw significant changes in the Kensington and Bayswater constituency. Joe Powell of the Labour Party emerged victorious, becoming the new Member of Parliament for the area. The vote count, completed early this morning at Kensington Town Hall, confirmed Powell’s win with 17,025 votes, unseating the incumbent, Felicity Buchan for the Conservatives.
The Kensington and Bayswater constituency, newly established for this election, witnessed a turnout of 42,122 residents, accounting for 54.5 percent of the electorate. This marks a notable decrease of 13.2 percent in voter turnout compared to the 2019 General Election.
Expressing his gratitude, MP Joe Powell stated, “Thank you to the people of Kensington and Bayswater. Tomorrow is the fresh start that we need for our country and community.”
