Greg Moore Appointed as Deputy Town Clerk of the City of London Corporation
In a notable advancement for the City of London Corporation, Greg Moore has been appointed as the Deputy Town Clerk. This appointment follows a rigorous selection process, highlighting Moore’s exceptional capabilities and long-standing dedication to the Corporation.
Greg Moore’s new role comes with significant responsibilities, including overseeing the coordination of political and policy advice to the City Corporation’s elected Members and senior staff leaders. Additionally, he will support the organisation’s decision-making processes and lead the Governance and Member Services section, which facilitates over 500 political decision-making meetings annually.
Moore will also manage the programme and private offices of both the Lord Mayor and the Chairman of the Policy & Resources Committee. His role extends to overseeing the Strategic Security & Resilience service, ensuring the City’s protection, business continuity, and recovery. Furthermore, he will supervise the City Corporation’s duties as a police authority, maintain Corporate Health & Safety, and support services for the wider Town Clerk and Chief Executive’s department.
Greg Moore’s journey with the City Corporation began in 2009 as an administrative assistant. Over the years, he has held various positions, including Interim Deputy Town Clerk for the past ten months. His extensive experience in local authority and the charity sector, especially in governance, underpins his new role.
Chris Hayward, the City Corporation Policy Chairman, praised Moore’s appointment, emphasizing its importance for local, London-wide, national, and international leadership. Town Clerk and Chief Executive, Ian Thomas CBE, also expressed confidence in Moore’s ability to help create an outstanding work environment and deliver the Corporation’s ambitious Corporate Plan.
