From colourful bee-eaters and kingfishers to majestic raptors and elusive forest species, the African nation boasts over 600 species of birds in habitats ranging from mangroves and wetlands to savannah and gallery forest. Whether you’re a casual bird lover or a seasoned ornithologist, there is a variety of tailor-made birdwatching holidays and guided tours on and around the majestic river that shares its name with the country, led by highly experienced local birding experts, ensuring a rewarding experience for every level of interest.

Global Birdfair 2025 also supports a meaningful cause, with this year’s proceeds contributing to the “Safeguarding Ocean Species” project, a global effort to protect seabirds such as the Antipodean Albatross from threats posed by longline fisheries.

Early bird tickets are available now, with discounted pricing ending at midnight on Thursday, 3rd July 2025. A range of ticket types is offered, including single-day, three-day and family passes as well as student concessions, and free entry for under 18s.
